THIS EXPEDITION CONSISTS OF 6 DAYS ON MOUNT KENYA! WE WILL BE CAMPING IN THE WILDERNESS, ENJOYING BREATHWORK, HIKING AND TRAINING IN COLD MOUNTAIN LAKES.
During this week you will delve deeper into the Method; practice with the cold extensively, expand your breathing techniques as well as your commitment. This extended experience is a great way to clear your mind of any clutter, get a fresh perspective on life and to simply let go.
Who is this week for?
This week is designed for practitioners who want to deepen their practice and get out of their comfort zone. You will be guided by Heather, a certified level 3 Wim Hof Method Instructor and Ciaran, an accomplished mountain guide and passionate naturalist. You will enjoy the challenge of climbing a mountain, camping beside jewel-like lakes and exploring the epic Afro-Alpine environment.
How do I get there?
Fly into Nairobi and a transfer will come to pick you up! We leave Nairobi at 9am on the 24th for the mountain, so best to arrive the night before if you can.
What’s included?
All accommodation, transport, food and park fees From 24th Oct-30th October 2023. It also includes your tuition from Heather, mountain guiding from Ciaran, porters, chefs and camping equipment on the mountain.
Example Itinerary:
Every day will include hiking, breathwork and cold training.
Day 1: Enter the National Park at Chogoria Gate and camp at Special Campsite. Elevation 3020m 1 – 2 hours walk
Day 2: Leave after breakfast, hike up to a waterfall then on to camp at Lake Ellis. Elevation 3400m 3 – 5 hours walk
Day 3: Enjoy a scenic hike up to the next camp at Lake Michaelson. Elevation 3953m 6 – 8 hours walk
Day 4: Spend the morning at Lake Michaelson then hike up to Simba Tarn. Elevation 4500m 3 – 4 hours walk
Day 5: Trek in the dark to watch sunrise at the Summit of Lenana. Elevation 4985m 2 hours walk. Breakfast at Harris Tarn – a small jewel of a lake – then down to Likii North. Elevation 3993m 4 – 6 hours walk
Day 6: Leave Likii North campsite and descend to vehicles at Old Moses. Elevation 3200m 2 – 4 hours walk
Mount Kenya is absolutely stunning and the lakes are perfect for training. This experience requires a basic level of health, ability to walk, and some experience with the cold. It will be transformational and joyful.
If you want to extend your stay, Heather is organising a trip to Kilifi, on the coast where you will enjoy sun, sand and sea! A perfect opportunity to unwind and relax after a tough climb!
